It is as congealed and harmonized on taste and flavor of a tobacco as any I have smoked. The smoky Latakia is just enough to accent the sweet creamy flavor of this expertly fermented tobacco. However, I relit the pipe and opened the book. And Esoterica has a knack for bringing nuances to its blends that can't be found in any other brand (well, except for Germain, but since they are blended by the same company, ). The pipe tobacco remains remarkably similar tasting through the bowl with hints of Orientals and Virginia but this is not boring. It does rub out very nicely though. Needless to say a zenith of perfection is not what I found, what I did find was balance, a balance of flavor between sweetness, smoke, and spice.
